As an artist, I seek. In a search for the unexplainable truth that requires no words. A language that utilizes light as the only true form of communication. This is a determination of understanding and unity of consciousness that can be expressed through human creativity and circumstance. Photography is a language in light and my camera speaks exactly that. It describes light in the best of its capable abilities just as the eye describes light to the mind. I am inspired by the word “inspire” wholly of itself and what I interpret it to be. As a spirited nature within me that recognizes the shared love of all things. And thus, the content of my art is nomadic, as it focuses on what I am inspired by the most. Music, Geometry, Health, History, and Philosophy that brings together a narrative of what my art is all about. Therefore, you will not experience any direct political message through my art or any means of the grotesque or socially questionable debates. My art is not intended to pressure a worldview in any way as I believe there are plenty of artists out there that hold that voice strong enough.
Live music photography and that of anything musical will always hold a lengthy chapter of my art that is always being re-written. My passion for music resides within my earliest memories and has been my closest ally throughout my life. The goal is to not only share that passion but to capture the same passion that other musicians exhibit. There is an excitement to becoming a live music photographer that is unlike any other. The raw energy of light and sound and the transference between the musician and the crowd is extremely powerful. This is where I find myself and this is where my art excels the most.
Of anything that I create that is not related to music is done only through circumstance. In the musical realm, the aim is to create art and capture the moment. If it is outside of this realm, the creation of thus is through the intention of sharing an experience or the of offering of a service. If I am ever working with a model or in a studio creating an abstract piece, circumstance plays key. Usually it isn’t until the piece is finished that the message reveals itself. As the philosophy that I undertake is very similar to the Ancient Greek understanding for music as being a muse or voice of a higher spirit. I opened myself to the idea that art is not created by me, but by that with which works through me. I like to consider my work spiritual as it is again, for me, the communication of light. And light is life, for my art is my life.
